Assessing windfarm mitigation solutions
Osprey recently supported an evaluation of new technologies, by the Aviation Advisory Panel (AAP), that are being offered to address the impact of wind turbines on ATC radar. As part of our role, as Technical Advisors to DECC, we:
- Produced a Business Case format for industry to follow;
- Developed an assessment guide for the AAP;
- Chaired the formal assessment of submitted Business Cases;
- Presented the recommendations to Government and Industry funding bodies.
This was very important set of activities that could lead to the funding of a potential solution. The final results are expected shortly.
...Their input to the whole process was pivotal to it's success and it says much for the quality of the work completed that Phase 1 was achieved on time and using a "green field" scenario that was unusual in terms of achieving regulatory approval. Phase 2 was delivered on budget and on time which would not have been achieved without the excellence of product delivered by Osprey Consulting Services Ltd. As a group we will have no hesitation in utilising them in future works should the occasion arise.
